In this single session, we will discuss why children do what they do, the goals of discipline, and the tools and techniques
to teach children right from wrong and acceptable from unacceptable behaviors while letting children know that they are loved and accepted.

Discipline is a core universal parenting issue. It takes time, thoughtfulness and discipline to master. This series of 4
workshops provides parents with a forum to discuss ongoing challenges, introduces the skills necessary to accurately
identify problems, explores reasons for the child's misbehavior including tantrums, lying, disobedience and whining, and teaches and practices the skills for effective, firm and loving discipline.

Parenting through Divorce 411 This workshop will share tips and techniques for maintaining the parental role while coping with divorce. We will explore
effective communication strategies with your ex (or soon to be ex) and with your children. We will discuss common pitfalls
to avoid and how not to use your children as leverage or as couriers in the post-divorce relationship.
Self-Esteem 411: Laying the Foundation, Strengthening the Core
What builds a child's self-esteem? Why is it important? This workshop will show parents how to build a strong foundation
of self-esteem in a child that is grounded in their daily activities and linked to their evolving skills. How a child feels about
herself establishes the core of who she is and who she will become. Parents will learn how to foster positive self-esteem without over-praising or creating outsized egos.
Temperament 411 Is it nature or nurture and how can we tell the difference? This workshop will explore different temperamental
characteristics, demonstrate ways to apply this knowledge to particular children and introduce effective strategies for dealing with variety of temperaments.
